Let’s make sure our calling card today is kindness, love and graciousness. Someone once said, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” I think that’s very true. Take a look at this…
I don’t know about you but when I read that meme, I saw love in action. Pure, human, unadulterated, “not often seen enough” love. And don’t we need it?
I think it’s possible that we may be on the precipice of the greatest love movement ever. Even with no touching, no “touch your neighbor” moments in our churches and no hugs (long, long sigh…), I think it’s very, very possible. And not only that…it’s needed.
People all around us are dealing with all kinds of stuff. Deep stuff. Heavy stuff. Grief stuff. Family stuff. Overwhelming, can’t even mention it stuff. Stuff that could take them out. Stuff they don’t want to talk about. Stuff that feels like it would break them in two if they actually allowed themselves a moment to think about it.
Sometimes I think our greatest ministry gift is simply showing love and there couldn’t bee 🐝 a better time to put our love on display. The bee isn’t supposed to be able to fly due to its aerodynamic construction, and yet it does. Despite its limitations, flight appears effortless.
You may be thinking: I’m with you but isn’t this bad timing? It may feel like the worst time to do it but I want to ask you to show love today. What I know for sure is “love is a boomerang.” All of us are in need of it right now, so why don’t we just give it away?
Maybe your radical act of love looks like the meme above or maybe it’s the way you treat your family today. It could be a phone call or something you mail to a friend, but I challenge you to remember that love is a verb. As we prepare to love, let’s meditate on these love scriptures:
Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. ~ 1 John 4:8
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. ~ 1 Peter 4:8
And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. ~ Colossians 3:14
From my heart to yours…I’m sending big virtual hugs and virtual hand sanitizer to each and every one of you. May God bless and keep you today. May He overshadow you with favor. May He overshadow you with protection. May He overshadow you with peace. #greater #BOLD #greater👚 #sprinttothefinish #allweneedisLOVE
